Social committee report

First, I am grateful to report that we have had several wonderful people offer to help with our neighborhood social events!  For the first time in several years, we have an actual committee now.  I will be moving in the summer and it feels great to be leaving everything in the hands of capable neighbors who have such fresh and fun ideas!

One of those ideas has been to welcome new residents with a note and little gift basket.  We made our first deliveries to a few houses this winter!  If you are a new resident, or know a neighbor that has moved here recently, please email us at social@armfieldfarm.org and we will put your or them on our list.

Fall brought our new and exciting Halloween event.  Many kids in costume participated in our parade, and made their way to our neighborhood haunted house!  There they got to preview the house (before the Halloween night crowd!) and were given a favor bag before they headed back to the party.

At the pool house, we had a great turnout for our chili cook-off!  Congratulations to our three winners who received the most votes and walked away with a gift card to a nearby establishment.

We also brought back the popular photo booth, crafts and bounce house.  Thank you to the MANY people who worked toward making this event such a great success!

In December, Santa made his annual appearance and rode around our neighborhood on a fire truck.  His route ended at the pool house, where he visited with the children and everyone enjoyed milk and cookies!  Many thanks to all who made this happen!

Spring will bring our Spring Fling event.  We are working with some fun new vendors to engage a variety of ages. There will also be food available (possibly for purchase), and a craft where kids (and adults!) can paint their own pot and plant a seed.  This will take place toward the end of April by the pool house.  Keep an eye on Facebook for more details!
