Currently, the Stingrays are 105 swimmers strong, drawing from about 70 families. We will have a coaching staff consisting of a Head Coach, and 4 Assistant Coaches, thus ensuring that all the swimmers will have appropriate instruction. The Stingrays do accept swimmers from other neighborhoods, providing that the team is not full and that the prospective swimmer does not have a community team in their own neighborhood. We welcome all levels of swimming ability, and encourage any child who can maneuver in some fashion across one length of the pool come out and give the team a try. The mission of the swim team is to:
Once the season begins, the swimmers practice every day until the end of July. While school is in session the practices are in the afternoon. The remaining days of the season, practice is either at 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. Children are divided and coached according to their age and ability. The swim meets are on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings and are lots of fun for the whole family. In addition to the swimming, there are a myriad of social activities the team sponsors, to provide fun and team spirit for the children and their families. Some of the activities the children have come to expect and love are team spaghetti dinners, “fun” meets, movie day, a trip to Splash Down, pep rallies and poster making parties. The season culminates in an end-of-season awards dinner and party that all the families enjoy. QUESTIONS?? Contact Catie Price at armfieldfarmswimteam@verizon.net
